Founded in 1873, Polytechnique Montréal is one of Canada’s leading engineering teaching and research institutions. It is the largest engineering university in Québec for the size of its graduate student body and the scope of its research activities. The Electrical Engineering Department is today one of the largest electrical engineering departments in Canada. It offers accredited engineering programs and a range of graduate programs to approximately 700 students. Research areas include automation and systems, electric power systems, biomedical engineering, microelectronics, telecommunication systems and microwaves.
