PAC ACHILLE

 

Achille is a PAC (Programmable Logic Control) programmable with IEC61131-3 compliant languages and ANSI C. It joins the functions of PLC, Motion Control, HMI and remote report and diagnostics into a single product. It is available with several field bus systems and in particular with EtherCAT. With this option it is able to control Drives and I/Os and basically any device that implements CoE (CAN Application Protocol over EtherCAT) or direct driving in the I/O space memory.

Its hardware architecture is basically derived by an Industrial PC (IPC). CPU and RAM amount can be chosen in function of the applicative needs. It offers all standard communication ports (Serial, Modbus, USB, LAN). It is equipped with a robust, embedded version of XP as an Operation System (OS), and a real-time extension of the OS in order to provide real-time capabilities of the PLC.

Achille base software includes a native interface that locally or remotely shows detailed information about PLC and eases setting up for all device configurations in the fieldbus networks. A collection of ISAC libraries, utilities (such as cam generators) makes application easier. A wide range of debugging aids is available: logical scope, crash analysis, code breakpoint, displaying and forcing of variables, hot code updating, tracer during the execution, and more.

Achille allows for developing the operator interface at reduced cost through native SCADA editor. The OPC interface allows for the use of third parties SCADA. MSCOM and .NET technologies facilitate the implementation of external applications, while the integrated Web server allows for a remotely-controlled HMI.

Motion Control functionalities for up to 128 axes are available with standard PLCopen MC libraries or with a motion script. Many advanced features such as camming, gearing with phasing, and position latching are easily available for the application.
