Featherway Robotics AB is a Swedish engineering company based in Uppsala, developing compact, high-precision actuation technology for lightweight robotics. Its core development is a novel precision transmission delivering high reduction and backlash-free motion in a coaxial package small enough to integrate directly into a robotic joint, together with a servo drive engineered around it, providing field-oriented motor control, absolute position feedback, and industrial fieldbus communication. The company also develops carbon-fibre structural links with integrated optical flex sensing, letting lightweight arms measure and correct their own deflection in real time. By designing transmission, drive, and control together, it targets robotic joints with lower mass, size, and energy use, higher accuracy, and safer collaborative operation.
