Robotics and Mechanism Design Laboratory (RMD)

Established in 2004 at Kyungnam University, South Korea, the Robotics and Mechanics Design Laboratory (RMD Lab) specializes in advanced robotic mechanisms. The RMD Laboratory has developed several industrial parallel robots, collaborative robots, robotic tools, EtherCAT-based multi-arm controllers, and robotic drive modules. Building on this core expertise, RMD Lab launched the spin-off startup Smart Robotic Tools in 2025 to commercialize cutting-edge adaptive grippers, compliant F/T sensors, deburring/polishing tools, and vision solutions.
