ETG.1800 EtherCAT Security Profile
ETG.1800 EtherCAT Security Profile provides a structured basis for selecting, implementing and assessing suitable EtherCAT security measures. It consists of the following two parts.
Part 1 – System under Consideration and Blueprint Scenarios
Defines the system under consideration, the assessment approach, threat and risk considerations, and three representative application scenarios. It is intended for machine builders, commissioning engineers and device manufacturers.
Part 2 – EtherCAT Measures
Describes cybersecurity measures based on existing EtherCAT functionality and related process management measures. It covers inherent, configurable and lifecycle-related measures for EtherCAT segments, explains their security relevance and applicability, and supports IEC 62443-3-3-based security assessments.
The profile lists EtherCAT functionalities and refers to other EtherCAT specifications, but does not describe the functionality.
