OPTIMUS Lab

OPTIMUS (Optimal Power Transformation and Inverter Modernization with Utilizable Strategies) Lab is a research group within the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Republic of Korea. The laboratory focuses on advanced power conversion and inverter technologies for energy, transportation, and industrial applications. Its research areas include grid-forming, parallel inverter operation, high-power converter systems, digital control implementation, power quality improvement, wide-bandgap semiconductor applications, and high-frequency power conversion. Through theoretical analysis, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and experimental validation, OPTIMUS Lab develops practical and reliable solutions that support the modernization, electrification, and commercialization of next-generation power electronic systems.
